BTS Dominates Global Music Charts: How ‘Arirang’ and ‘SWIM’ Achieved 5 Weeks at No. 1

(The CEN News / Reporter Yang Hyung-ju) BTS has reinforced its global reach, holding the No. 1 spot on major music charts for five consecutive weeks with their fifth studio album, Arirang.

According to Spotify’s latest tally (April 17–23), BTS topped the Weekly Top Albums — Global chart for a fifth week. All 14 tracks from the album, including lead single “SWIM,” have charted for five straight weeks. On the April 23 Daily Top Songs — Global chart, “SWIM” sat at No. 2, marking 35 consecutive days in the upper ranks.

The U.K. Official Charts (April 24–30) placed Arirang at No. 13 on the Official Albums Top 100, its fifth week staying high on the list. “SWIM” registered at No. 34 on the Official Singles Top 100, and the album secured top-five positions across several subcharts.

Momentum carried into Japan. After topping Oricon’s monthly album chart in March, Arirang remained among the top ranks for five weeks on key lists, including No. 3 on the Weekly Combined Album Ranking and No. 3 on the Weekly Digital Albums chart. Album cuts “2.0,” “Body to Body” and “Hooligan” also appeared on multiple weekly streaming charts.

Europe and Australia followed suit. Arirang climbed to No. 3 on Germany’s official album chart, reached No. 4 on France’s SNEP chart, and jumped to No. 2 on Australia’s ARIA Top 50 Albums after one week.

At home, BTS swept the music show rankings without making broadcast appearances. The group took No. 1 on all five major programs — SBS’s Inkigayo, MBC’s Show! Music Core, KBS2’s Music Bank, Mnet’s M Countdown and MBC M’s Show! Champion. The track “2.0” picked up another trophy, bringing the album’s total to 15 wins.

Meanwhile, BTS is meeting fans around the world on the BTS WORLD TOUR “ARIRANG.” Their performances in Goyang and Tokyo drew roughly 240,000 people and produced 46 sold-out shows. The tour continues at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on the 25th, and again on the 26th and 28th.
