The 33rd Criminal Division of the court, presided over by Judge Lee Jin-kwan, conducted a hearing at 2 PM for several high-profile defendants. These included former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, former Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Choi Sang Mok, former White House Chief of Staff Jeong Jin-seok, former Senior Presidential Secretary for Civil Affairs Kim Joo-hyun, and former Secretary for Public Service Discipline Lee Won-mo.

The defendants are accused of abuse of power and dereliction of duty. They allegedly exercised their right to recommend Constitutional Court judges without proper vetting and failed to appoint judges following the impeachment of former President Yoon Suk Yeol last year, leaving the positions vacant.
