Is President Lee Jae-myung Winning Over Young Voters? Latest Polls Show 60.9% Approval!

A poll released on the 12th found that approval of President Lee Jae‑myung’s handling of government affairs surpassed 50 percent among adults in their 20s and 30s.

MediaTomato, commissioned by NewsTomato, conducted a nationwide survey of 1,036 adults on the 9th and 10th. It found that 60.9 percent approved of the president’s performance, 33.3 percent disapproved, and 5.8 percent said they were unsure.

Approval was high across all age groups.

Among respondents in their 20s—described in the survey as tending conservative—55.6 percent approved while 40.6 percent disapproved. In the 30s cohort, approval was 51.4 percent versus 42.7 percent disapproval. Respondents in their 60s, another group the survey characterized as conservative-leaning, registered 61.8 percent approval and 33.4 percent disapproval. Those aged 70 and older showed 51.6 percent approval and 35.9 percent disapproval.

By political orientation, self-identified centrists recorded a 64.7 percent approval rate and a 28.2 percent disapproval rate, both above the overall average.

Party support was reported as follows: Democratic Party 47.5 percent, People Power Party 29.9 percent, Joguk Innovation Party 2.9 percent, Reform New Party 2.3 percent, Progressive Party 1.7 percent, other parties 2.4 percent, none 12.0 percent, and don’t know 1.3 percent.

The survey was conducted via ARS (RDD) mobile-phone method. The margin of error is ±3.0 percentage points at the 95 percent confidence level, and the response rate was 2.6 percent. For more details, consult the Central Election Polls Deliberation Commission website.
