The Korea TV Home Shopping Association announced on the 27th that its board and general assembly have approved the appointment of Lim Kwang-ki, a former editorial writer at SBS, as the association’s new president.
Lim will serve a three-year term beginning May 6, 2026.
He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in journalism and mass communication from Chung-Ang University and later served as a visiting scholar at North Carolina State University.
After entering journalism in 1987, Lim worked across SBS’s political, social and economic desks, gaining extensive field experience. He also led the New Media Department, directed election-broadcast planning and served as an editorial writer.
In 1996, his investigative reporting on illegal fetal sex-determination at obstetrics clinics earned him the Korea Journalists Association’s “Reporter of the Month” award and the Korea Broadcasting Award for reporting.
From 2019, Lim spent three years as director of the National Assembly Broadcasting Station, where he helped boost programming competitiveness and improve the channel’s public image. After retiring from broadcasting, he taught and mentored students at Ewha Womans University’s Journalism School.
He has also held leadership roles across the media industry, including serving as vice chairman of the economic daily Financial Today.
The Korea TV Home Shopping Association is a nonprofit corporation registered with the Broadcasting, Media and Communications Committee.
