2026 Broadcast Awards: How to Win Big with Your Creative Program

By Seo Hyobin, Inews24 — The Broadcasting, Media and Communications Commission is seeking standout programs from last year and individuals who contributed to the development of broadcasting culture. The call for entries runs May 6 through June 2.

On May 4, the commission held its sixth meeting of 2026 and finalized plans for the \”2026 Broadcasting, Media and Communications Commission Awards.\” Entry guidelines have been posted on the commission’s website.

The annual awards are intended to encourage creators and elevate program quality. This year, the commission will hand out 15 prizes in total: one grand prize, one top prize, nine excellence awards, and four special awards. The excellence awards cover five categories: social and cultural development; creative innovation; the spread of Hallyu (the Korean wave); regional development; and OTT, web, and app content.

The grand prize carries 400 million KRW (approximately $300,000). Total prize money amounts to 400 million KRW (approximately $300,000). The awards ceremony is scheduled for November.

Entries are open to programs produced and broadcast in South Korea in 2025. OTT entries include videos released online and on mobile platforms. Broadcasters and related organizations must submit entry forms and video materials.

Submissions are accepted in person or by registered mail. In-person submissions must arrive by 5:00 p.m. on June 2; mailed submissions are valid if postmarked by June 1.
