Enhancing Student Mental Health: Key Partnership for Crisis Management in Okcheon

Daniel Kim Views

[iNews24 Reporter So Jin-seop] The Okcheon Office of Education in North Chungcheong (Chungbuk), led by Superintendent Park Jeong-ae, has partnered with local mental-health providers to support students recovering from school violence and psychological crises.

On March 25, the Okcheon Office of Education announced it signed memoranda of understanding with Somang Mental Health Clinic and the Chiwoo Psychological Development Research Institute to provide medical support for students in crisis and to promote mental wellness.

The partner institutions are hospitals and counseling centers based in Daejeon that are readily accessible from Okcheon.

Before the signing ceremony, Superintendent Park toured the counseling and treatment rooms to confirm they offer a comfortable, professional setting for students seeking care.

Superintendent Park said, \”This facility serves as a place to heal children’s emotional wounds, and I am reassured that it provides a warm, professional environment.\” She added, \”I will work directly in the field to be a steady support for protecting students’ mental health.\”

The Okcheon Office of Education operates a priority scheduling system: when a student in crisis is identified at school, the Wee Center will act as a liaison to secure prompt specialist appointments.
