[Sports Today reporter Lee Sang-pil] The Doosan Bears picked up their second straight win in spring exhibition play.
Doosan routed the Kiwoom Heroes 8-1 on March 13 at Icheon Bears Park in a 2026 Shinhan SO Bank KBO League exhibition game.
Doosan improved to 2-0 in the exhibition slate, while Kiwoom fell to 0-2.
Doosan’s offense pummeled Kiwoom pitching, finishing with 14 hits. Park Ji-hoon went deep for a two-run homer. On the mound, starter Jack Log was strong over four innings (4 H, 5 K, 1 R allowed), and Choi Won-jun followed with two scoreless frames.
Kiwoom starter Yuto turned in three shutout innings, yielding one hit, striking out one and issuing three walks, but a shaky bullpen and a quiet lineup cost the Heroes the game.
The teams battled through a pitchers’ duel early and remained scoreless into the fourth.
Kiwoom broke the deadlock first. In the top of the fourth, after one out, consecutive hits by An Chi-hong and Im Ji-yeol put runners on first and second, and Park Chan-hyuk drove in the game’s first run with an RBI double.
Doosan answered quickly. In the bottom of the fifth, Kang Seung-ho’s hit and subsequent advances set up a two-out, runners-on-second-and-third opportunity, and Park Chan-ho delivered an RBI single to tie it 1-1.
Doosan seized momentum in the bottom of the sixth. Yun Jun-ho’s single and An Jae-seok’s double produced a run to give Doosan a 2-1 lead, and Yang Seok-hwan followed with an RBI single to extend the advantage.
The attack continued. With two outs and runners on first and third after Oh Myung-jin’s hit, Kim Min-seok and Lee Yoo-chan ripped back-to-back RBI hits to push the score to 5-1.
Taking firm control, Doosan added another run in the bottom of the seventh when Yun Jun-ho doubled and Kim In-tae followed with a single, and Park Ji-hoon capped the inning with a two-run homer to put the game out of reach.
Leading 8-1, Doosan’s bullpen held the line the rest of the way, sealing a one-sided victory.
