[Sports Today reporter Shin Seo-young] The SSG Landers closed out their midweek three-game series with a decisive win.
SSG hammered the Kiwoom Heroes 11-1 at Incheon’s SSG Landers Field on April 2 in the 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO League.
The victory pushed SSG to 4-1 on the season and secured the series win.
Kiwoom, which earned its first win of the year on April 1, couldn’t sustain the momentum and fell to 1-4.
SSG starter Choi Min-jun picked up the victory, tossing five innings and allowing just one hit while issuing three walks and striking out five.
Offensively, Choi Jeong and Choi Ji-hoon each hit their first home runs of the season. Park Seong-han was a catalyst, going 3-for-3 with two doubles, a walk, two RBIs and three runs scored.
Kiwoom starter Jung Hyun-woo took the loss, yielding six runs on five hits (including one homer) with three walks and three strikeouts over five innings.
SSG grabbed control early with a big first-inning blow. Leadoff man Park Seong-han drew a walk, and after Eredia popped out, Choi Jeong jumped on Jung’s first pitch — a 144 km/h fastball — and sent a two-run shot over the left-field wall.
SSG kept the pressure on. In the third, leadoff hitter Lee Ji-young worked a four-pitch walk and advanced to second on a steal. Park Seong-han followed with an RBI single to center. After Choi Jeong drew another walk to load the bases with two outs, Go Myung-jun delivered a two-run single to left to make it 5-0.
Kiwoom squandered a chance to answer in the fifth. Park Chan-hyuk and Eo Jun-seo reached on back-to-back walks to create a no-out, first-and-second opportunity, but Park Han-gyeol flied out and Choi Jae-young hit into a ground-rule double play, leaving the bases loaded.
SSG extended the lead later in the fifth. Park Seong-han opened the inning with a double to left, and Eredia followed with an RBI single on Jung’s first-pitch curve to push the score to 6-0.
The Landers put the game out of reach in the sixth. Go Myung-jun and Han Yu-seom each singled off reliever Jung Se-young. After two outs, Lee Ji-young drew a walk to reload the bases, and Park Seong-han’s infield single brought home a run. Eredia then delivered a two-run single to center to make it 9-0.
SSG added insurance in the eighth when An Sang-hyun singled and Choi Ji-hoon crushed a two-run homer. Closer Han Du-sol allowed an RBI single to Oh Sun-jin with two outs and runners on first and second in the ninth, but he escaped further damage and the Landers closed out an 11-1 victory.
