Ryu noted that the Daegu chapter’s nomination committee approved Jeong as the sole candidate with 5 votes out of nine committee members. Earlier that morning, the People Power Party’s Daegu nomination committee held its 13th meeting and announced it had recommended former deputy mayor Jeong Jang-su as the sole candidate for the Jung-gu mayoral race.
