Tottenham Breaks 15-Match Winless Streak: Can They Avoid Relegation?

Tottenham Hotspur finally ended a long run without a win, taking a vital three points that keep their Premier League survival hopes alive. After struggling for results and slipping toward the relegation places, the Spurs delivered a much-needed response.

Tottenham beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 on the road. The victory snapped a run in which they had gone 15 consecutive league matches without a win and marked their first triumph in 16 games overall, offering a chance to shift the mood around the club.

The match was cagey from the outset. Tottenham controlled possession but struggled to turn that dominance into clear-cut chances, while Wolves threatened on quick counters and kept the game tight. The first half ended goalless.

It took until late in the second half for the breakthrough. From a corner, a scramble in the box produced a loose ball that João Palhinha calmly converted to settle the contest — a long-awaited, decisive finish.

After conceding, Wolves pushed forward in numbers. They introduced Hwang Hee-chan late to add urgency and hunted an equalizer until the final whistle. A last-gasp free kick nearly produced a leveller, but Tottenham’s goalkeeper made the stop and Wolves were unable to find a way back.

The win keeps Tottenham’s bid to escape the relegation zone alive. They remain toward the bottom of the table but have closed the gap to safety and cling to faint hope with games remaining. Roberto De Zerbi, newly in charge, notched his first win in only his second match, giving the squad a timely morale boost.

One victory won’t fix everything, but this result rekindles belief in a season that had looked in danger of collapsing and gives Tottenham a platform to try to change their fate in the run-in.
