[MyDaily = Suwon reporter Kim Kyung-hyun] Is this what makes them the \”Magic\” team?

The KT Wiz recorded back-to-back extra-inning walk-off wins — and there’s more at stake than a simple streak.

On April 29 at Suwon’s KT Wiz Park, KT defeated the LG Twins 5-4 in extra innings in a 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO League matchup.

It was the second straight night the Wiz closed it in extras. On April 28, with one out and runners on first and second in the bottom of the 10th, Kang Min-seong delivered a game-winning RBI single. This time, Jang Sung-woo finished the job: with one out and the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th, Jang hammered a two-run double off the left-field wall to end the game.

April 28 belonged to the rookies. Kang went 1-for-1 with an RBI, delivering his first KBO walk-off. Yu Jun-gyu was 1-for-2 with a walk, scored twice and drove in one, while Kwon Dong-jin went 2-for-2 and scored twice.

On April 29 the veterans stepped up. In the 10th inning, Yu Jun-gyu reached as the leadoff hitter. The previous game’s hero, Kang Min-seong, was retired on a bunt-foul fly. Choi Won-jun and Kim Hyun-soo followed with back-to-back walks to shift momentum, and captain Jang Sung-woo closed it out. It was consecutive walk-off wins built on a blend of youth and experience.

Starter So Hyeong-jun worked six innings, allowing eight hits, walking three and striking out four while yielding three runs (one earned), and he departed with no decision. Joo Kwon tossed 2/3 of an inning scoreless and earned the win — his first of the season. Jeon Yong-ju and Sugimoto Koki each threw a scoreless inning. Closer Park Young-hyun was a bit shaky, giving up one run in 1 1/3 innings, but the offense bailed him out and preserved the victory.

Jang Sung-woo was a force, finishing 2-for-3 with two walks, a run and two RBIs. Kim Sang-su went 3-for-4 with a run, and Yu Jun-gyu finished 1-for-1 with a walk, scoring once and driving in two.

After the game, manager Lee Kang-chul praised So Hyeong-jun for doing his job as the starter. He said the relievers held firm and helped set the stage for the comeback.

Lee added that Yu Jun-gyu’s late-game RBI had shifted momentum, and although the team surrendered the lead again in extras, the players never quit. They manufactured another chance, and veteran Jang Sung-woo delivered the walk-off hit to finish it off, Lee said.

A crowd of 13,711 fans created a raucous atmosphere. Lee bowed his head in appreciation, saying the players gave everything and that the fans’ passionate support helped fuel back-to-back walk-off wins.

KT has announced Caleb Bosshil as its Game 3 starter on April 30. LG is expected to counter with Im Chan-gyu.
