[Sports Seoul | Sajik — Kang Yoon-sik] “He even went to the ER this morning…”
Busan KCC closed out Anyang Jeonggwanjang in the semifinals and punched its ticket to the finals. On the day of the decisive Game 4, guard Huh Hoon (31) made an emergency-room visit for stomach pain but insisted on playing — a resolve that energized his teammates and earned praise from coach Lee Sang-min.
KCC topped Jeonggwanjang 84-67 in Game 4 of the 2025–2026 LG Electronics pro basketball semifinals at Busan Sajik Indoor Gymnasium on April 30. The win gave KCC a 3-1 series advantage and a matchup with Goyang Sono in the championship.
Lee appeared upbeat during his postgame media availability. “Like I said before the game, it came down to a battle of wills, and I think we were stronger in that regard,” he said, praising his players.
There was a late twist before tipoff: Huh visited the ER that morning complaining of stomach pain. Lee said he considered removing Huh from the starting lineup, but the guard insisted on playing — and that toughness seemed to lift the rest of the roster.
“He didn’t feel well this morning and even went to the ER. He was struggling with stomach pain. I thought about taking him out of the starting five, but he said he wanted to play. That gave the other players extra determination,” Lee said.
Having come through the play-in round, KCC knew it had to finish the series in Game 4. “I was worried a Game 5 would wear us down,” Lee said. “But the guys defended hard, and the offense started clicking naturally.”
Now KCC heads to the finals to face Goyang Sono — the first championship in the league’s history to feature the No. 5 and No. 6 seeds. Lee promised an aggressive, attack-first approach.
“Sono’s been playing with a lot of momentum all season. How we handle them in Game 1 is going to be crucial. We’re not pushovers — it’s spear versus spear. Defense has been the trend, but this finals pairs two teams that want to play through offense. I think fans are in for some exciting basketball,” he said. skywalker@sportsseoul.com
