Pohang’s Future: How Candidate Park Hee-jung Plans to Enhance Childcare for a Safer City

[iNews24 reporter Jinwoo Lee] On May 5, Park Hee-jung, the Democratic Party of Korea’s candidate for mayor of Pohang, attended the Pohang Children’s Day Grand Festival on the lawn near Manindang in Nam-gu, Pohang. He spoke with residents and continued his on-the-ground outreach on everyday issues.

At the event, Park met with children and families, reflected on the meaning of Children’s Day, and stressed the importance of creating a city environment where children can grow up safely and happily.

Park then held a meeting with the Pohang Daycare Association to hear about the practical challenges faced by childcare centers and to discuss ways to improve care environments.

Park said, \”A child’s daily life is the future of the family and the community.\” He added that he will pursue field-focused policies to reduce gaps in caregiving and build a Pohang where both parents and children can feel secure.
