’60 in the final round’ — Clark wins; ’60 in the second round’ — Kim Si-woo runner-up”There was nothing I could do against someone who shot 11 under,” Kim Si-woo said after the PGA Tour’s The CJ Cup Byron Nelson, reflecting on Wyndham Clark’s come-from-behind victory. On the final day of the tournament, May 25 (Korean time), at TPC Craig Ranch (par 71) in McKinney, Texas, Kim made seven birdies and one bogey for a 6-under 65. He finished the event at 27 under, 257 strokes — his lowest 72-hole total — but Clark stole the title with an 11-under 60 in the final round to finish 30 under, 254.The scoring binge underlined how friendly the setup played. This week produced two rounds of 60: Kim’s second-round 60 and Clark’s final-round 60, bringing the season total of 60s to four players. Two players shot 61 in this event as well. Im Sung-jae, who tied for ninth at 19 under (265), and Jackson Shuber (U.S.), who finished solo fourth at 23 under (261), each carded a 61 in the second round. Before this tournament no one had posted a 61 this season; now two players share the season’s fifth-lowest round at 61.Four players posted 62s here — Jordan Spieth, Tom Hoge, Taylor Moore and Max Greyserman — pushing the season’s total of 62s to 15. Remarkably, eight players shot 63 at this tournament, including champion Clark and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who finished solo third at 25 under (259). The season total of 63s has climbed to 40, with fully 20% of them coming at The CJ Cup.The only other event this year to produce two rounds of 60 was The American Express, which Scheffler won. Interestingly, Scheffler’s winning score there matched Kim’s 27-under at this tournament — 261 on a par-72 course.
