Si Woo Kim mounted a late charge at the PGA Tour’s The CJ Cup Byron Nelson but couldn’t withstand a final surge, settling for solo second.

On May 25 at TPC Craig Ranch in Texas, Kim fired a 6‑under 65 in the final round and finished 27‑under 257, three shots behind Wyndham Clark.

Kim, who held the 54‑hole lead, played aggressively from the start.

He birdied the par‑2 second and then strung together three straight birdies from Nos. 5–7 to build momentum. On the back nine he kept up the pressure with consecutive birdies at 11 and 12.

But Clark was the hotter player down the stretch.

Clark exploded in the final round, posting an 11‑under to surge past the field. A long birdie putt at No. 15 swung momentum firmly in his favor, and birdies at 17 and 18 completed the comeback.

Kim saved par from a bunker at 17 but couldn’t close the gap.

This was Kim’s second runner-up finish of the season; he also tied for second at the Farmers Insurance Open. His steady play has raised expectations that a first win of the season could be near.

Defending champion Scottie Scheffler finished third at 25‑under.

Sungjae Im also played a steady week, tying for ninth at 19‑under for his third top‑10 of the season.

The tournament was a hit with fans.

About 240,000 spectators attended the CJ‑sponsored event, and the on‑site House of CJ — featuring K‑food, K‑pop and K‑beauty experiences — drew more than 40,000 visitors.
