At the Blue House, he presided over a senior secretaries’ meeting and said, “These incidents are particularly serious because they involve the public sector, which should lead efforts to protect public safety.” He noted that the day marked the 10th anniversary of the Guui Station disaster, when a young worker working alone on a platform was struck and killed by a train. “Since then, we have repeatedly seen the heartbreaking loss of workers’ lives in workplaces that should be the safest,” he said.
He added, “Although occupational fatalities fell sharply in the first quarter of this year, far too many people still die on the job. In parts of our society, harmful practices that prioritize money or efficiency over safety persist.” He emphasized the need for a full investigation into whether the Seosomun overpass demolition accident and the missing GTX rebar at Samseong Station stem from those same systemic failures.
He called on relevant agencies to quickly establish the facts and, based on their findings, to hold those responsible strictly accountable regardless of rank. He stressed emphatically, “Money can never be worth more than human life. We must remember that safety is the most effective form of investment.”

한국여성벤처협회가 여성벤처 스타트업 육성에 참여할 여성전문 창업기획자(액셀러레이터) 4개사를 최종 선정했다고 5일 밝혔다.

이번 모집에는 19개사의 액셀러레이터가 접수했으며 이중 △더인벤션랩 △비스퀘어 △젠액시스 △한양대기술지주 4개사가 선정됐다. 이들은 중소벤처기업부 초격차 10대 기술과 푸드 및 리테일 분야 여성창업기업의 해외진출 지원을 제시해 높은 평가를 받았다.

한국여성벤처협회는 지난해 여성전문 액셀러레이터 2개사를 선정해 11개 기업을 지원한 바 있다. 이중 5개사가 1.7 billion KRW (about $1,275,000)의 민간투자를 받았다. 지난해 성과에 힘입어 올해는 정부지원금을 기존 320 million KRW (about $240,000)에서 700 million KRW (about $525,000)으로 확대하고 액셀러레이터 선정규모도 2개사에서 4개사로 늘렸다.

올해 선정된 운영기관은 여성친화제품 등 여성 특유의 감성과 특성이 반영된 혁신기술 기반 유망 여성 스타트업을 발굴해 기업 맞춤형 지원설계, 교육·멘토링, 사업화 자금 지원, 협력네트워크 등 특화프로그램을 제공할 예정이다.
