[Sports Today reporter Kang Tae-gu] SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs forced a winner-take-all Game 7 in the Western Conference Finals.

On May 29, the Spurs defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 118–91 in Game 6 of the 2025–26 NBA Western Conference Finals at Frost Bank Center.

The victory tied the series at 3–3 and set up a decisive Game 7, with the winner advancing to the NBA Finals to face the New York Knicks.

Victor Wembanyama paced San Antonio with a 28-point, 10-rebound double-double. Stephan Castle added 17 points, and Dylan Harper contributed 18.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led Oklahoma City with 15 points, but the Thunder couldn’t overcome the Spurs’ surge.

San Antonio came out hot in the first quarter, knocking down three consecutive 3-pointers early and hitting timely perimeter shots to build a lead. Wembanyama capped the quarter with a 3-pointer as the Spurs closed the period up 35–22.

The Thunder responded in the second. During a stretch with the benches on the floor, Oklahoma City applied pressure and trimmed the deficit. Vassell hit a long-range shot for the Spurs, but the Thunder entered halftime trailing 53–60.

The game swung decisively in the third quarter. San Antonio poured in 32 points while holding Oklahoma City to just 13, opening a commanding margin. Attempts from OKC — including looks by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Kenrich Williams and Jared McCain — failed to connect.

Leading 92–66 heading into the fourth, the Spurs protected the lead without forcing plays and kept the pressure on. Oklahoma City folded quickly, and the series returned to even.
