[Alpha Economy = Reporter Park Byung-seong] MILWAUKEE — Lee Jung-hoo extended his hitting streak to nine games on Tuesday, continuing a steady run at the plate for the San Francisco Giants.

On June 2 (local time), Lee started in right field and batted fifth for the Giants in their road game against the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He went 1-for-4 and scored a run.

The single extended a streak that began May 15 against the Los Angeles Dodgers to nine games. After the game, Lee’s season batting average stood at 0.303.

The Giants were routed 16-2 by Milwaukee. Riding the momentum of a 19-6 win over the Colorado Rockies the previous day, San Francisco couldn’t withstand an onslaught from NL Central leader Milwaukee and quickly lost control of the game.

In the top of the second, with one out and no one on base, Lee lined a slider from left-hander Shane Drohan into right field for a single. Matt Chapman followed with a two-run homer to center, and Lee crossed the plate.

San Francisco led 2-0 early, but the defense collapsed right after the inning change and surrendered seven runs. Lee did not collect another hit, grounding to second in the fourth, popping out to left in the sixth, and grounding to first in the eighth.

He also had a defensive miscue in the bottom of the sixth, letting a slow grounder roll past him — a misplay charged as his second error of the season. Fortunately, it did not result in any runs.
