Spring is here, and Korea Railroad Corporation (Korail) is tempting travelers with fresh discounts on train trip packages.
Korail announced on the 16th that it will offer special deals for the government-backed 2026 Travel Month (April–May), hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Tourism Organization.
Travelers heading to any of 42 designated depopulation areas nationwide will get a coupon covering 100% of their train fare. Korail is also offering 50% off fares on five themed train routes.
Korail has expanded discounts on its rail pass, Naelro, doubling last year’s savings by cutting 20,000 KRW (about $15.00) off every pass, regardless of pass type.
That means the Youth pass (for travelers 29 and under) is priced at 60,000 KRW (about $45.00) for the 7-day continuous pass and 50,000 KRW (about $37.50) for the flexible 3-day pass. The Adult pass, which has no age limit, costs 90,000 KRW (about $67.50) for the 7-day continuous pass and 80,000 KRW (about $60.00) for the flexible 3-day pass.
The discounts apply to trains running in April and May. Book the depopulation-area and themed train packages starting March 16, and the Naelro pass starting March 25, via the Korail website or the KorailTalk mobile app.
