‘The 2026 Muchangpo Jjukkumi & Flounder Festival’ is drawing long lines of people along the Mysterious Sea Road at Muchangpo Beach in Boryeong.

Organizers say the sea road is revealed by the tide at 12:20 p.m. on that day, which creates a concentrated rush of people hoping to experience it.
If you miss that midday window, the next opening won’t be until 9:51 a.m. on the 1st of next month. The festival runs through the 5th.
Throughout the event, there’s a fun mix of programs: strolling the Mysterious Sea Road, a kids’ barehanded fish-catching experience, and a lively singing contest, among others.
Recently, a ‘Love Gate’ was installed midway along the sea road. The arched granite structure stands about 12 m tall, 10 m wide, and 2.3 m long.
