Incheon Launches Mobile Fine Notification for Car Insurance Violations: What You Need to Know

Incheon’s Michuhol District will launch a KakaoTalk-based mobile e-notice service on the 15th to notify drivers about lapses in mandatory auto insurance and overdue vehicle inspections — and to enable immediate payment.

Mailed notices were often not received or opened in time because of address changes or recipients being away.
Under the new KakaoTalk payment service, people facing fines can view notices and pay using the smartphone registered in their name—no separate sign-up required. Officials say faster delivery of reduced-fine notices during the objection period should help residents avoid missing reduction deadlines and make payments more convenient.

A district official said, \”By offering electronic notices alongside mailed notices, we expect residents will be able to quickly check and pay fines.\”
Under existing law, fines are imposed for failing to maintain mandatory auto insurance or for delaying required inspections. For more information, contact the Vehicle Fine Imposition Team in the Vehicle Management Division at the Michuhol District Office.
