Michelin announced on February 10 that it will provide original equipment (OE) tires for Hyundai’s hydrogen-powered truck, ‘The New XCIENT Fuel Cell Truck’.
Beginning in early 2026, the ‘Michelin X Line Energy’ tires will be fitted as OE on Hyundai’s ‘The New XCIENT Fuel Cell Truck’ models exported to Europe.
‘The New XCIENT Fuel Cell Truck’ is Hyundai’s large commercial vehicle equipped with a 180 kW hydrogen fuel cell system and a 350 kW drive motor. It boasts an impressive range of over 720 kilometers (447 miles) on a single charge when fully loaded.
Michelin’s ‘X Line Energy’ tire is engineered for long-haul transport, offering high efficiency for commercial vehicles. It features a compound that delivers low rolling resistance and enhanced durability through advanced casing technology. The tire meets the ‘A’ rating for rolling resistance under European tire standards and incorporates a self-repairing tread pattern.
