A hair-raising incident has recently gone viral online, showing seven individuals crammed into a passenger car during the early hours of a winter morning.
The YouTube channel Mun Chol TV posted a video on January 1, 2022, with the provocative title “Seven People in an Avante: Mun Chol TV Sets Another Dangerous Precedent?” The footage reveals a Hyundai Avante CN7 carrying a total of seven passengers. The vehicle, designed to seat five, was dangerously overcrowded, with two passengers reportedly riding in the trunk.
According to the source, this reckless act occurred in the early morning hours of winter, allegedly due to cold weather and a shortage of taxis. The two individuals in the trunk were said to be holding onto the lid with one hand while linking arms with each other for stability. Although the vehicle was traveling at a relatively low speed of 30 to 40 km/h, any sudden braking or collision could have resulted in catastrophic consequences.
A concerned witness reported the vehicle to law enforcement and tailed it for approximately ten minutes with hazard lights activated to prevent secondary accidents. The witness then handed over the situation to responding officers at the scene. Police investigation concluded with the driver receiving a fine for violating safety driving obligations and reckless driving. All passengers were identified as adults in their twenties.
Legal expert Mun Chol voiced grave concerns about the incident depicted in the video. He warned, “A sudden brake could potentially separate the two people in the trunk from their families permanently.” He emphasized that the precarious situation of passengers swaying in the trunk presents far greater dangers than most people realize.
The online community reacted with shock and criticism. Comments ranged from “This looks like a scene straight out of Mad Max” to “A single speed bump could spell disaster.” Many expressed disbelief, questioning how the situation could have escalated to such a dangerous level, with some simply calling it “insane” and condemning the extreme risks taken.
