Production-site inspections and detailed cooperation plans discussed

KG Mobility said on March 13 that, ahead of its entry into the Vietnamese market, it inspected production facilities and discussed cooperation measures with KD partner FUTA Group.
On March 11 (local time), KG Mobility Chairman Kwak Jae-seon visited FUTA Group’s headquarters in Da Nang and met with FUTA Group Chairman Nguyen Hu Luan and other executives to discuss expanding their partnership.
Earlier, on March 10, Kwak toured the Kim Long Motors Hue (KLMH) KD plant, which is in the final stages of completion, and reviewed process readiness and support needs. Located in the Hue industrial complex, the plant is slated to begin KD production of KG Mobility’s key models, including the Rexton and Musso, in the second half of the year.
KG Mobility plans to supply body, paint and assembly equipment to the Vietnam plant so it can apply its production technology and know-how to build high-quality vehicles locally.
FUTA Group is a major Vietnamese company engaged in vehicle sales and passenger transport. Kim Long Motors is FUTA Group’s automotive subsidiary. The two firms signed a licensing agreement in 2023 for local assembly production in Vietnam.
Kwak said, “We expect the Vietnam facility to supply not only KD-built vehicles but also high-quality cars that incorporate KG Mobility’s production equipment and technical expertise. The two companies will deepen cooperation to achieve top-tier vehicle manufacturing.”
He added, “Vietnam is a high-potential market with rapidly growing vehicle demand and a strategic hub for expanding exports across Southeast Asia. Alongside existing markets such as Europe, we will continue to grow global sales by entering emerging markets and increasing overseas launches of new models.”
Meanwhile, KG Mobility is actively expanding its KD operations to boost global exports. Last May, the company signed a heads of agreement (HOA) on key terms for KD supply to Indonesia. This year, it plans to expand KD operations into emerging markets such as Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
