LG Uplus is adopting a 10-part license-plate-based vehicle rotation to support the government’s energy-saving measures.

On March 26, LG Uplus said it will restrict vehicles from operating on days when the last digit of a vehicle’s license plate matches the final digit of the calendar date at all of its business sites under the 10-part system.

Exemptions will apply to essential vehicles—such as those used for network-equipment inspections—and to vehicles transporting people with disabilities, pregnant women, or preschool-age children.

LG Uplus is also advancing other energy-saving steps, including wider deployment of low-power, high-efficiency equipment within its network, requiring steady-speed driving for field inspection vehicles, and automatically switching off lights at the end of the workday.

An LG Uplus spokesperson said the company decided to join the government’s energy-saving efforts and will continue everyday conservation practices—beyond the vehicle rotation—to reinforce sustainable management.
