SeomAir, a regional air mobility (RAM) operator led by CEO Choi Yong-deok, has launched scheduled service between Gimpo and Sacheon.
SeomAir said it held a “SeomAir Gimpo–Sacheon inaugural ceremony” at Sacheon Airport on the 30th.
Organized by Sacheon Airport, the event was attended by Choi Yong-deok; Park Wan-su, governor of South Gyeongsang Province; Park Dong-sik, mayor of Sacheon; Cho Gyu-il, mayor of Jinju; and Kim Kyung-soo, former chairman of the Local Era Committee.
Beginning today, SeomAir will operate four round trips daily between Gimpo and Sacheon, establishing a direct air link between the Seoul metropolitan area and South Gyeongsang Province.
Gimpo-to-Sacheon flights depart at 7:20 a.m., 10:50 a.m., 2:20 p.m., and 5:50 p.m. Sacheon-to-Gimpo departures are scheduled for 9:05 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 4:05 p.m., and 7:35 p.m.
Lee Hwan-ju, director of Sacheon Airport, said, “SeomAir’s launch is more than opening a route; it’s a meaningful commitment that links people and places. I’m confident it will make daily life more convenient for residents and inject new energy into the local economy and tourism.”
Park Wan-su, governor of South Gyeongsang Province, said, “Sacheon Airport is the only airport that provides access to South Gyeongsang and the southern coast. I hope SeomAir and the province grow together.”
Choi Yong-deok, SeomAir’s CEO, said, “Sacheon is South Korea’s aerospace hub. With four daily flights, we will deliver vital, everyday air service for residents of Sacheon, Jinju and the surrounding region.”
Meanwhile, SeomAir is developing trunk routes to address recent concerns about travel between Incheon Airport and regional airports. The company plans to build a range of routes to fill gaps in the domestic air network and lead efforts to revitalize regional airports.
