MBC Standard FM (95.9 MHz in the Seoul metropolitan area) maintained its dominance in radio ratings in the second quarter of 2026.
According to a survey conducted by Korea Research, MBC Standard FM recorded a channel share of 23.8% in the metro area, placing it first overall. The result reaffirmed the station’s steady lead through the first half of 2026.
Current-affairs programming stood out. Kwon Sun-pyo’s News Highkick posted a 13.7% share, marking its 13th consecutive quarter at No. 1. The show’s consistent relevance and influence have secured its role as a flagship current‑affairs program.
Host Kwon Sun-pyo said, \”Rather than focusing on rankings, my team and I concentrate on producing programming with conviction. We will remain vigilant to keep asking meaningful questions.\”
The morning current‑affairs program Kim Jong-bae’s Focus also held strong with a 7.2% share. Weekend host Kim Chi-hyung’s News Highkick registered a 10.1% share, demonstrating competitiveness in the weekend current‑affairs lineup.
Daytime shows such as Radio Cultural Center, Trot Radio and 2 O’Clock Hooray, along with FM4U’s Noon’s Song of Hope and 2 O’Clock Date, posted broad gains, boosting the channel’s overall momentum.
MBC Radio said it plans to expand its digital platforms while preserving the competitive strengths of its traditional radio content to further strengthen the channel’s reach.
Analysts say MBC Radio’s long run at the top reflects steady trust in its current‑affairs programming and balanced growth across multiple dayparts.
